WASHINGTON - On the 11th anniversary of establishing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, Congressman Jim Costa (CA-21) joined House Democrats in reintroducing and cosponsoring the American Dream and Promise Act.
“Eleven years after President Obama created the DACA program, Dreamers have grown to become innovators and leaders in our communities. But sadly, most of them still live with uncertainty about their future in the only country they have ever known as home,” said Costa. “The American Dream and Promise Act is a critical component to fixing our broken immigration system. It’s long overdue for Congress to enact bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform.”
The American Dream and Promise Act aims to protect our nation's Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders by providing them a pathway to citizenship.
