Rep. Jim Costa, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 21st district, recently addressed several pressing issues through his social media platform. His posts highlight legislative efforts to protect environmental resources, respond to natural disasters, and ensure public access to healthcare.

On January 24, 2025, Rep. Jim Costa announced the passage of his Headwaters Protection Act in the House of Representatives. The act is designed to "foster public-private partnerships that enhance forest and watershed health." According to Costa's post, "By supporting projects like the Olam Project in the San Joaquin Valley, this bill aims to reduce wildfire risk and enhance clean drinking water."

Later on January 24, 2025, Rep. Costa addressed the severe impact of wildfires in California via another post. He stated that "California is facing devastating wildfires: communities are being destroyed, families are displaced, and lives are put at risk." He urged Congress for immediate action by saying "Congress must quickly deliver immediate wildfire relief. We can't wait any longer to help those whose lives are being destroyed by these wildfires."

On January 25, 2025, Rep. Costa shifted focus towards healthcare access with a reminder about open enrollment for health insurance through Covered California. He encouraged constituents not to miss out on coverage with a message stating "Don’t go without health insurance! Open enrollment is happening now. Create an account and enroll through @CoveredCA before January 31st."
