Members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit have identified 35-year-old Isaias Lopez of Coalinga as the victim of a recent deadly shooting.

Just before midnight on Wednesday, July 24, deputies responded to a 911 call from a home in Riverdale, near W. Mount Whitney and Garfield Avenues. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been shot. Deputies and EMS personnel provided first aid, but the man ultimately died.

Homicide detectives arrived along with members of the Crime Scene Unit to speak with potential witnesses and collect evidence.

Detectives have determined there was a group of people at the home, all of whom knew each other. A disturbance took place and shots were fired, resulting in one man being struck. Detectives are working to determine who fired the shots. No arrests have been made.

The Sheriff’s Office has investigated ten homicides this year. Eight have occurred in the FSO’s jurisdiction and two were taken over from other smaller city police departments.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact Sheriff’s Detective Richard Antunez at (559) 600-8221 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867, www.valleycrimestoppers.org. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Reference case #24-8441.
