Fresno County Sheriff's Office to host 2A / CCW Awareness Day

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is inviting the community to participate in its 2A / CCW Awareness Day. The event aims to raise awareness about self-defense and safety, particularly at a time when these issues are of paramount importance. In partnership with the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), the Sheriff's Office will provide resources such as safety courses, home practice print-outs, concealed carry magazines, educational books and more.

The event will feature a certified USCCA instructor and offer opportunities for interaction with local law enforcement officials. Attendees can also enjoy family-friendly activities and food.

The event details are as follows:

- Date: Saturday, June 1st

- Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm

- Admission: Free

- Location: Area 2 Substation, 1129 N Armstrong Ave, Fresno, CA 93727

Guest speakers include John Zanoni (Sheriff), Kevin Draughon (CCW Coordinator), Dave Jeffers and Kelly Wells from the USCCA, Roger Wilson (Attorney - Wilson Law Firm), Mike Carey (CRPA), Jake Belemjian (The Firing Line), Todd Cotta (Kings Gun Center) and Rob Simpson (The Range).

Topics to be discussed during the meeting include concealed weapons permits, California Senate Bill 2, Second Amendment rights and a raffle with chances to win assorted firearms, apparel and more.

Public safety participants will include representatives from Clovis Police CA, Fresno Police Department, CAL FIRE/Fresno County Fire and CHP - Fresno.

Exhibits will feature firearms simulator training, SWAT display, SAR - Search and Rescue - Boat/UTV display, EOD presentation, K-9 Unit demonstration, CHP - Motorcycle Division showcase among others. Food trucks will be available along with free cotton candy and sno-cones for attendees.
