8.8% of citizens unemployed in Fresno County in 2021

Fresno County recorded an unemployment rate of 8.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 40,039 people out of the 1,003,150 living in Fresno County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Fresno County has remained fairly stable compared to the 8.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Fresno County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 416,796 people who had a job during that time, 1,127 were employed in the Armed Forces and 415,669 belonged to the civilian labor force.
