Detectives seek public help in solving Kingsburg man's murder from August 2021

Homicide detectives from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office are seeking assistance from the public to resolve the 2021 murder case of Shawn Vigo, a 23-year-old resident of Kingsburg.

On August 16, 2021, shortly before 9:00 p.m., Kingsburg Police responded to reports of gunfire on the 1700 block of 18th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Shawn Vigo lying in the street with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by officers and EMS personnel, Vigo succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The investigation was subsequently handed over to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office by Kingsburg Police. According to homicide detectives, this incident was not random; evidence suggests that Vigo was deliberately targeted.

Over the past three years, detectives have conducted numerous interviews but are now reaching out for further information from anyone who has not yet been contacted and might hold crucial details regarding this fatal shooting.
