On Monday, detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office arrested 20-year-old Joshua Garcia of Fresno. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on a charge of murder and is not eligible for bail.

Additionally, detectives arrested 20-year-old Jace Ramirez of Fresno for being an accessory in this same murder case. Ramirez has since posted bond and bailed out of jail.

Both suspects were arrested for their involvement in the murder of 19-year-old Angel Zuniga, which occurred on October 29, 2022. On that day at 1:30 am, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a 911 call reporting shots fired at 8096 E. Hedges Ave in Fresno. A large Halloween costume party was taking place at this location with approximately 200 guests in attendance. A disturbance broke out and shots were fired. Party guest Angel Zuniga was struck and died at the scene. The majority of the partygoers quickly left the home.

Detectives diligently worked on this case, but leads eventually went cold. In an effort to seek justice for Angel’s family, detectives recently put out messages to the public encouraging people to share information. New tips were reported, which allowed detectives to identify and arrest these two suspects, Joshua Garcia and Jace Ramirez.

Although arrests have been made, you may still share any information you have by contacting Fresno County Sheriff’s Detective Jose Diaz at (559) 600-8204 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 or www.valleycrimestoppers.org. You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Reference case #22-13150.
