Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested 32-year-old Brock Sanders of Fresno. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on felony charges of arranging to meet with a minor for sexual purposes and possession of child sexual abuse material. His bail was set at $65,000. He has since posted bond and been released from jail.
On May 24th, members of the Central Valley Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force contacted Sanders, who had an active arrest warrant for contacting a child for sexual purposes.
Detectives seized one of his electronic devices containing digital photos and videos of child sexual abuse material.
ICAC is comprised of 64 federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies spread throughout nine counties in the Central Valley. It is dedicated to protecting children online and investigating crimes committed against children facilitated by the Internet and computer usage.
Law enforcement reminds the public to be vigilant when visiting websites and social media outlets. Parents should monitor their children’s internet usage and be aware of the software apps they are using. Maintaining open dialogue with children is crucial to building trust. Online predators often pretend to be someone else to lure their victims in and take advantage of them.
"Teach children to be wary of the person on the other end of the chat line; many times, people are not who they say they are," stated a law enforcement official. Common apps used by suspects include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, Discord, Kik, MeetMe, and Scout.
Anyone with additional information about this suspect is asked to contact ICAC Detective Rosario at (559) 760-6282 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867 or visit www.valleycrimestoppers.org. Tips can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
