A Fresno County Judge has sentenced 48-year-old Sandra Garcia to life in prison without parole for her involvement in a kidnapping plot that took place in 2016. The case culminated in the torture and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl from Clovis.
Garcia orchestrated the kidnapping, involving her cousin, Miguel Carriedo, and her two sons, Mark Roque and Brandon Roque, to carry out the disturbing plan. It was revealed that Garcia's motive behind the heinous act was to intimidate the young girl into leaving her home in Clovis, where Garcia and the child's father resided. The intention was for the girl to move in with her mother, who lived in another country at the time.
Brandon Roque, one of Garcia's sons, accepted a plea deal, resulting in his imprisonment. On the other hand, Miguel Carriedo and Mark Roque are still awaiting their sentencing for their roles in the crime.
In response to the sentencing, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude towards its detectives and prosecutors from the Fresno County District Attorney's Office for their relentless efforts in investigating the case.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the horrors that can unfold due to nefarious intentions. The sentencing of Sandra Garcia to life in prison without the possibility of parole underscores the gravity of the crime committed and the justice sought for the victim and her family.
