CITY OF FRESNO: Juan F. “Paco” Balderrama the next Chief of the Fresno Police Department

City of Fresno issued the following announcement on Dec 9.

Mayor Lee Brand and City Manager Wilma Quan today announced that Juan F. “Paco” Balderrama will be the next Chief of the Fresno Police Department at a virtual press conference held at Police Headquarters. 

Balderrama, a 21-year veteran of the Oklahoma City Police Department, will become the first Hispanic Police Chief in Fresno’s history when he is sworn in on January 11, 2021. 

Current Chief of Police Andrew Hall will officially retire on January 15, 2021.
