Fresno County issued the following announcement on Nov 6.
Fresno County has announced the temporary closure of the Board of Supervisors, Clerk of the Board and Administrative Offices and directed staff to quarantine following the positive COVID-19 test of County Supervisor, Steve Brandau. While staff and the public remain at low risk, the office closures have been ordered out of an abundance of caution.
Services provided by these offices are still available by remote means as staff continue to perform their duties through teleworking.
”Upon learning of the positive test, we took quick and appropriate action per our safety protocols to close our offices and send staff home to protect against any potential spread of the virus,” said Fresno County Administrative Officer, Jean Rousseau. “We believe the risk to be minimal thanks to health and temperature screenings and mask requirements that are in place, however our top priority is always to protect the health and safety of our staff and those whom we serve and these actions are the right thing to do.”
Per COVID-19 safety protocols, staff of the affected offices have been directed to self-quarantine until further notice. Staff are teleworking to ensure that services remain accessible.
More information regarding these closures will be made available as it develops.
