The FCSO has announced the opening of the 2025 Off-Highway Motor Vehicle grant application period, which will be available from March 4, 2025, to May 5, 2025. The application is now open for public comment.
The Sheriff's Office seeks state funding for law enforcement on off-highway trails. Each year, California provides funding through the OHV Grants Program. This program offers financial assistance to eligible agencies and organizations, including federal, city, county, and nonprofit entities. It aims to support the development, maintenance, operation, expansion, and contribution to well-managed and high-quality OHV recreation areas, roads, and trails.
As part of the grant application process, the state mandates a 60-day period during which the grant must be available for public review and input. The grant can be accessed online at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/, where written comments can also be submitted until May 4, 2024 at 5:00 pm.
