Jim Costa, a current U.S. Congressman representing California's 21st district, shared several insights on pressing issues through social media posts. Costa has been serving in Congress since 2005 and has a long history of political service, including previous roles in the California State Assembly and Senate.

On February 11, 2025, Jim Costa addressed the impact of tariffs on American consumers and businesses. He stated: "Make no mistake—tariffs are taxes on American consumers and businesses. A 25% tariff on Canada & Mexico would drive up prices on everything from groceries to cars, hurting families & businesses. We need fair trade—not higher costs!"

Later that day, Costa highlighted the importance of energy security by discussing legislation he co-sponsored. On February 11, 2025, he posted: "Energy security is national security—and it affects us all. I co-sponsored the Banning SPR Oil Exports to Foreign Adversaries Act to ensure that China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea can’t benefit from our Strategic Petroleum Reserves."

The following day, February 12, 2025, Costa discussed his recent meeting with Jordanian leaders amid ongoing tensions in Gaza. He wrote: "As a member of @HouseForeign, I met with King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan. With the ceasefire in Gaza at a pivotal juncture, our focus remains on sustaining peace, preventing further conflict, and delivering essential humanitarian aid to those in need."
