Rep. Jim Costa, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 21st District, recently shared several updates on social media platforms. He communicated community-focused messages reflecting his continued commitment to his constituency.
On April 24, 2025, Costa expressed gratitude to participants of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition Ceremony held in Fresno County. “Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition Ceremony in Fresno County! It was an honor to celebrate the incredible creativity, passion, and dedication of our local students. Their talent truly reflects the promise of a bright future.” Costa’s comments underscored the significance of creative expression among students, emphasized by a community event that showcased emerging talent.
In another statement on the same day, Costa condemned violence within his community, highlighting his concern over public safety. “No one in our community should feel unsafe or face unprovoked violence. I’m deeply saddened by this news. Now more than ever, let’s unite in support and solidarity. My thoughts and prayers are with Tim Smith and his family.” This response reflected Costa’s deep empathy and commitment to the well-being and security of his community members.
Later, Costa marked a somber occasion, commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. On April 24, 2025, he tweeted, “Today marks the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, during which over 1.5 million Armenians were brutally killed. We cannot remain silent any longer.” Costa’s statement aligns with a broader historical recognition and remembrance of past atrocities, calling for continued awareness and dialogue.
