Rep. Jim Costa, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 21st district, used his social media platform to highlight regional infrastructure priorities and promote the Congressional Art Competition for high school students in his district.

On April 16, 2026, Costa posted about meeting with local officials to discuss infrastructure needs: “Ensuring that our Valley is properly equipped with strong transportation, housing, air quality, and infrastructure is essential to sustaining its continued success. It was great meeting with @TulareCOG to discuss key priorities, including advancing improvements to State Route https://t.co/Xqslmorqj3”.

The following day, Costa reminded high school artists in California’s 21st district of an upcoming deadline: “ATTENTION CA-21 HIGH SCHOOL ARTISTS: Tomorrow is the final day to submit your artwork for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. All pieces must be submitted by 5:00 PM on April 17. To view the rules and full details, click the link below https://t.co/aSIuO4Bv5B” (April 17, 2026).

Later on April 17, he reiterated the deadline for submissions: ” TODAY is the final day to submit your artwork for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition! Costa has served in Congress since replacing Cal Dooley in 2005 and previously held positions in both chambers of California’s state legislature. He was born in Fresno in 1952 and continues to reside there after graduating from California State University, Fresno with a BA in 1974.
