Rep. Jim Costa, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 21st district, posted a series of updates on July 18, 2025, highlighting federal funding for local programs and expressing his views on public broadcasting and veterans’ housing protections.
In a post made at 01:50 UTC, Costa wrote: “For decades, both parties valued public broadcasting. In the Valley, KVPR and Valley PBS receive over $1.1M combinted to educate kids and deliver trusted local news.
Slashing funding for public broadcasting won’t fix the deficit, but it will hurt our communities. There are”.
Later that day at 15:06 UTC, he announced new support for early childhood education in Tulare County: “NEWS: Tulare County is getting $11.6 million for Head Start!
That’s more kids in classrooms, and more support for Valley families.”
Addressing veterans’ issues at 16:15 UTC on the same day, Costa stated: “When the Trump Administration cut critical protections that put veterans at risk of foreclosure.
I voted for the bipartisan fix because housing security for our heroes should never be a partisan issue. #VeteransDeserveBetter
