Rep. Jim Costa, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 21st district since 2005, posted a series of updates on April 29, 2026, addressing issues ranging from Armenian cultural heritage to food insecurity and recent legislative efforts.
On April 29, Costa wrote: “Just last week, we gathered in Fresno to mark the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The post comes amid ongoing concerns about the protection of Armenian sites in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Costa has served as a member of Congress since replacing Cal Dooley in 2005 and previously held positions in both the California State Assembly (1978–1994) and California Senate (1994–2002). Born in Fresno in 1952 and currently residing there, he graduated from California State University, Fresno with a BA in 1974.
