Man stabbed in Fresno’s Courthouse Park, suspect arrested by deputies

A man was stabbed multiple times during a disturbance between two men outdoors at Fresno’s Courthouse Park, between the Hall of Records and the main Superior Courthouse, around 12:15 p.m. on June 2.

Deputies working in the courthouse responded quickly to the scene and provided medical aid to the victim until an ambulance arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital and is reported to be in serious condition but is expected to survive his injuries.

Witnesses identified the suspect as Alexander Resendiz, age 25, of Parlier. Deputies took him into custody shortly after the incident. Resendiz has been booked into jail on a charge of attempted homicide.

Authorities said they are still working to determine a motive for the stabbing and whether there was any prior relationship between the two men involved.
