The La Verne Leopards, featuring former Roosevelt High School standout Jaidynn Alvarez, secured a 5-3 victory against the Whittier Poets in an NCAA Division III softball game at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.
The matchup, hosted at Campus West, marked the teams’ second meeting this season. La Verne previously claimed an 8-2 win over Whittier on Friday, March 6.
Alvarez pitched 1.1 innings and issued two walks during the contest.
The Leopards will face the Whittier Poets again at Campus West on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m. for their next game.
