Rep. Jim Costa, serving California’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress, has shared updates on social media regarding upcoming events and initiatives. His posts include details on a forthcoming telephone town hall concerning Medicaid and his position on energy assistance programs.

On April 4, 2025, Costa announced a “Telephone Town Hall on Medicaid” scheduled for April 8 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time. He intends to provide updates on Medicaid’s status and future, focusing on his efforts to protect the program. Constituents are encouraged to ask questions and share concerns, with the option to listen live or join the event by calling a provided number.

Later the same day, Costa discussed the “Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)”, highlighting its role in helping nearly six million Americans manage energy expenses. He, along with other colleagues, urges the Trump Administration to reconsider their decision to terminate LIHEAP staff, warning that such a move could put families at risk.

On April 5, 2025, Costa provided an “update on the Telephone Town Hall”, noting that the event will now occur at 2:00 PM Pacific Time. As before, he plans to address questions and discuss the protection of Medicaid.
