He stated, “On #WorldRefugeeDay, we honor the strength and resilience of refugees around the world as they seek sanctuary and hope for a better future for themselves and their families.”
Later that day, he posted about a local event celebrating freedom, writing “Yesterday in our community, we honored the ongoing fight for freedom.” He expressed his commitment to building a future based on justice and equality: “It was a privilege to take part in this celebration – and may we always commit ourselves to building a future rooted in justice, equality, and unity for all.”
The following day, on June 21, 2025, Rep. Costa extended greetings for #PortugueseHeritageMonth. Jim Costa has had an extensive political career prior to his current congressional role. Before joining Congress in 2005 after replacing Cal Dooley, he served in both the California State Assembly from 1978 to 1994 and the California Senate from 1994 to 2002.
