Jim Costa, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 21st District, shared a series of tweets addressing various issues related to the Trump Administration. Since replacing Cal Dooley in 2005, Costa has expressed concerns about national security and the operations of the United States Postal Service (USPS).
On March 27, 2025, Costa tweeted about the challenges faced by the USPS under the Trump Administration. “USPS faces uncertainty under the Trump Administration, making it crucial to support postal lessors with education, information, and resources. I met with @Postal_Lessors to discuss the challenges for postal facility owners and ongoing USPS issues.” Costa emphasized the importance of providing support through education and resources to postal lessors.
Later the same day, Costa expressed criticism towards Secretary Pete Hegseth and other members of Trump’s cabinet, stating, “Secretary Hegseth and other Trump cabinet members recklessly put our national security at risk.” The tweet suggested a concern over actions taken by cabinet members regarding national security.
In a subsequent tweet on March 27, 2025, Costa further elaborated on the issue, criticizing the Trump cabinet members’ handling of classified information. “Trump’s cabinet members were recklessly discussing classified information on Signal. These are the same individuals who wanted to ‘lock her up’ for Hillary’s emails. Their actions put our national security at risk.” Costa highlighted the perceived hypocrisy in their actions in relation to previous criticisms of Hillary Clinton’s handling of emails.
