Jim Costa, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 21st district, recently shared his thoughts on various issues through social media posts. With a career spanning decades in both state and national legislatures, Costa continues to engage with constituents on topics ranging from family values to public safety and social welfare.
On May 11, 2025, Costa took to social media to acknowledge the contributions of mothers worldwide. In his post, he stated: “Mothers make daily sacrifices and exemplify a selfless, unconditional love. This week, I took to the House floor to honor the incredible mothers in our lives and around the world.” He concluded by wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.
Two days later, on May 13, 2025, Costa expressed gratitude towards law enforcement officers during National Police Week. He posted: “This #NationalPoliceWeek, we honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe.” He thanked them for their service and commitment to justice.
On May 14, 2025, Costa addressed concerns over potential cuts to SNAP benefits. His message was clear: “Cutting SNAP = cutting meals for kids. It’s cruel. It’s wrong. I won’t stand for it.”
Costa has been serving California’s 21st district since replacing Cal Dooley in 2005 after previously holding positions in both the California State Assembly and Senate.
