Rep. Jim Costa, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 21st district, shared his perspectives on recent political developments via social media. With a history in public service that spans decades, Costa continues to engage with legislative matters and community concerns.
On May 21, 2025, Rep. Jim Costa commented on a late-night hearing conducted by House Republicans regarding their reconciliation bill. In his tweet, he stated: “HAPPENING NOW House Republicans are holding a 1:00 a.m. hearing on their reconciliation bill. It’s a clear sign they don’t want the public to see just how unpopular their agenda really is.”
Later that day, Costa announced his participation in a discussion about the same bill on KMPH FOX26’s Great Day program. He highlighted the potential impact of the legislation on residents of the San Joaquin Valley in another post: “HAPPENING NOW: I’m joining @KMPHFOX26 Great Dayto discuss Republicans reconciliation bill, and how it would affect over 1.8 million residents in the San Joaquin Valley.”
Additionally, Costa paid tribute to Gerry Connolly, reflecting on his leadership and personal courage amid illness. In his message, he expressed: “Gerry Connolly was a trusted leader, a respected voice on the Oversight committee, and a dear friend. He faced cancer with incredible courage and served with unwavering dedication.”
Costa has been serving California’s 21st District since replacing Cal Dooley in 2005 after previously holding positions in both the California State Assembly and Senate.
