Former Roosevelt High School standout Jaidynn Alvarez took the field for the La Verne Leopards in their NCAA Division III softball game on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m., where the team was defeated 14-11 by the Whittier Poets.
Campus West served as the venue for the matchup, which marked the third time this season the Leopards faced the Poets. In their earlier contest on Saturday, March 7, La Verne secured a 5-3 victory over Whittier.
Alvarez pitched 1.2 innings, giving up three earned runs and issuing three walks.
La Verne is set to play again at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Campus West against the Minnesota Morris Cougars.
