The Fresno County Sheriff’s School Resource Deputy at Riverdale High School has arrested Martin Munguia, 31, from Lemoore. He was charged with arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes and booked into the Fresno County Jail. Munguia’s bail was set at $30,000, which he posted to secure his release.
The investigation into Munguia began on July 2 after reports of potential illegal activity surfaced. Munguia is the Co-Ed Track and Field coach at Riverdale High School and works as a computer technician for the Riverdale Joint Union School District. The deputy found inappropriate digital messages of a sexual nature between Munguia and a teenage student, leading to his arrest.
The school district is cooperating with the investigation and has placed Munguia on paid administrative leave. Investigators are concerned about possible inappropriate contact with other children due to his position.
