Jim Costa, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 21st district since 2005, recently shared his views and initiatives on social media. Costa, who has a long history in public service including time in the California State Assembly and Senate, often uses his platform to address issues impacting his constituents.

On May 20, 2025, Jim Costa announced via Twitter that “Team Costa will be at the Orange Cove Food Distribution TODAY from 9 AM – 12 PM for Mobile Casework.” He encouraged those needing assistance with federal agencies to attend this event.

Later that day, Costa expressed concern over proposed Medicaid cuts by GOP leaders. In his tweet posted on May 20, he stated “GOP leaders talk about ‘fiscal responsibility’ but their Medicaid cuts would devastate their own states.” He emphasized the potential negative impact on rural hospitals and patient care.

Continuing his focus on healthcare issues, on May 21 Costa highlighted the potential loss of healthcare for millions of Americans due to these proposed changes. He tweeted “14 million Americans could lose their health care.” stressing how it would affect access to medical services in areas like the San Joaquin Valley.

Jim Costa has served as a representative since replacing Cal Dooley in 2005. Born in Fresno and educated at California State University, Fresno, he remains deeply connected to his community through both legislative efforts and local engagements.
