Later that day, Costa expressed concern over proposed Medicaid cuts by GOP leaders. In his tweet posted on May 20, he stated “GOP leaders talk about ‘fiscal responsibility’ but their Medicaid cuts would devastate their own states.” He emphasized the potential negative impact on rural hospitals and patient care.
Continuing his focus on healthcare issues, on May 21 Costa highlighted the potential loss of healthcare for millions of Americans due to these proposed changes. He tweeted “14 million Americans could lose their health care.” stressing how it would affect access to medical services in areas like the San Joaquin Valley.
