Detectives from the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations have arrested Ethan Libby, a 24-year-old Fresno resident. Libby faces charges of committing sexual acts against minors, contacting minors for sex, and possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material. He has been booked into the Fresno County Jail.
The investigation began after detectives received a CyberTip. They located Libby at the Bridgewood Crossing apartment complex in northwest Fresno, where they discovered evidence suggesting he had sexually assaulted two minors. Libby’s electronic devices were seized for further analysis.
Authorities are concerned that there may be additional victims who have not yet reported their experiences. Individuals with information related to this case are encouraged to contact HSI Special Agent Monique Jacques or Valley Crime Stoppers. Informants will remain anonymous and may receive a cash reward.
Jeff Brannigan, Deputy Special Agent in Charge at HSI San Francisco, stated, “HSI will never yield in its efforts to combat the sexual exploitation of children. We will never hesitate to bring federal resources to bear in partnership with our local partners to investigate and apprehend child predators in California, the U.S., and around the world.”
The Central California ICAC Task Force includes 66 law enforcement agencies across nine counties in the Central Valley. It focuses on protecting children online and investigating internet-facilitated crimes against them.
