Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identifies homicide victim in Huron shooting

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced on Mar. 30 that the victim of a recent homicide in Huron has been identified as 19-year-old Luis Leyva.

The identification follows a shooting incident that occurred near the intersection of Crocker Avenue and Los Angeles Street in Huron. The case is significant for local residents, as it highlights ongoing concerns about violent crime in the area.

According to authorities, deputies responded to reports of shots fired at around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, March 27. Upon arrival, they found Leyva suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical aid was provided at the scene, but he died from his injuries.

No further details about suspects or circumstances have been released by investigators at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
