Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Carlos Rivas, a 49-year-old Kerman resident and Raisin City School District employee, on March 19. Rivas was booked into jail on two felony charges: one for annoying a child and another for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. His bail was set at $60,000. He has since posted bond and been released from custody.
Rivas worked as the Food Service Coordinator at the Raisin City School District Office and was also involved in coaching sports. Following his arrest, the school district placed him on administrative leave.
According to authorities, there is no information at this time about additional victims. However, the investigation remains ongoing.
