Dominican Penguins, featuring former Edison High School athlete Alexis Verduzco, came up short 3-2 in their NCAA Division II softball matchup against the Hawaii–Hilo Vulcans on Wednesday, March 4, at 2:30 p.m.
The game was held at Vulcan Softball Field and marked the teams’ second meeting of the season. In their earlier contest on March 4, the Penguins secured a 7-6 victory over the Vulcans.
Verduzco took the mound for three innings, allowing one walk and tallying one strikeout.
The Penguins are set to play the Vulcans again at Vulcan Softball Field on Thursday, March 5, at 12 p.m.
