Homicide detectives in Selma have found the body of a resident who had been missing since September 2020. The individual, identified as Miguel Alonso Garcia, was last in contact with others on September 11, 2020, at the age of 30.
The discovery was made on April 15, 2025, when detectives from the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at a property commonly known as “The Peach Pit,” located on the 400 block of 6th Avenue Drive in Kingsburg. The search was initiated based on leads suggesting that Garcia’s remains might be buried there. The search was assisted by Fresno County Public Works, which provided the heavy machinery needed to excavate the site. The efforts led to the unearthing of human remains.
The remains were then examined by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office, which confirmed they belonged to Miguel Garcia.
Authorities are currently working to apprehend those responsible for Garcia’s death. Anyone with knowledge of the case is encouraged to contact Sheriff’s Detective Jesse Gloria at 559-600-8217 or Valley Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867, www.valleycrimestoppers.org.
