Rep. Jim Costa, currently serving California’s 21st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on various initiatives and greetings through his social media platform.
On June 3, 2025, Rep. Costa addressed the growing wildfire risk in the Sierra foothills and the San Joaquin Valley. He announced his support for legislative efforts by stating: “Proud to cosponsor the Locally Led Restoration Act to cut red tape and empower communities to lead the way on forest restoration, fuel reduction, and wildfire prevention.”
Later that day, Costa shared a significant development regarding California’s agricultural field offices. At 15:30 UTC, he noted a successful intervention following his correspondence with the USDA: “Following my letter to the USDA, eight of the nine California agricultural field offices previously slated for closure will remain open.” He described this outcome as a victory for farmers in the San Joaquin Valley.
Concluding his series of posts on June 3 at 19:00 UTC, Rep. Costa extended holiday wishes by writing: “Wishing a joyful and meaningful Shavuot to all who celebrate! May this holiday bring reflection, renewal, and the sweetness of community and tradition.”
